Cleaners Shoreditch Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Cleaners Shoreditch provides domestic and commercial cleaning and related services to its customers. By booking or using any service from Cleaners Shoreditch you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions the following expressions have the meanings set out below:
Company means Cleaners Shoreditch, the cleaning services provider.
Customer means any individual, business, or organisation that books or uses services from the Company.
Services means any cleaning, related ancillary tasks, or associated work carried out by or on behalf of the Company.
Cleaner means any employee, worker, contractor, or representative engaged by the Company to perform the Services.
Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.
2. Service Scope
The Company provides domestic and commercial cleaning and related services within its operational service area. Services may include regular cleaning, one-off deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, office and workspace cleaning, and other related services agreed with the Customer at the time of booking.
The exact scope, frequency, duration, and price of the Services will be agreed in advance with the Customer and confirmed at the time of booking. Any tasks not expressly agreed in advance will be considered additional and may be subject to further charges or a separate agreement.
3. Booking Process
3.1 Bookings may be requested by the Customer through any authorised booking channel offered by the Company. The Customer must provide accurate and complete information about the Premises, service requirements, preferred dates and times, and any special instructions.
3.2 All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Company. A booking is only considered accepted when the Company has confirmed the service details and, where applicable, any deposit or prepayment has been received.
3.3 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the information provided at the time of booking is correct. Any changes to the booking, including date, time, service type, duration, or access arrangements, must be requested as early as possible. The Company will use reasonable efforts to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee availability or that the original price will remain valid.
3.4 The Company may conduct an initial assessment or ask questions to estimate the time and resources required. This estimate is based on the information provided by the Customer and on typical conditions. If the actual condition of the Premises significantly differs from what was described, the Company may adjust the price, service duration, or scope of work.
4. Access to the Premises
4.1 The Customer must ensure that the Cleaner has safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed start time. This may include leaving keys with a designated person, providing access codes, or ensuring someone is present to allow entry.
4.2 If the Cleaner is unable to gain access to the Premises at the agreed time, the Company may treat the booking as a late cancellation and charge a cancellation fee as set out in these Terms and Conditions.
4.3 The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all alarms, security systems, and entry instructions are clearly communicated in advance. The Company will not be liable for any charges or penalties arising from incorrect or incomplete access information provided by the Customer.
5. Customer Obligations
5.1 The Customer must ensure that the Premises are safe for the Cleaner to work in and free from undue hazards. This includes disclosing any known risks such as loose floor coverings, unsafe stairways, or hazardous materials.
5.2 The Customer should secure any valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items before the Cleaner arrives. While the Company will take reasonable care when providing the Services, it is recommended that the Customer removes or safeguards items of high sentimental or financial value.
5.3 The Customer must ensure that running water, electricity, and adequate lighting are available at the Premises for the duration of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
5.4 If pets are present at the Premises, the Customer must ensure that they do not pose a risk to the Cleaner or interfere with the Services. The Company reserves the right to refuse or discontinue Services if a Cleaner feels unsafe due to animal behaviour.
6. Cleaning Materials and Equipment
6.1 The Company may provide cleaning products and equipment or may use materials supplied by the Customer, depending on the type of service and prior agreement.
6.2 Where the Customer provides cleaning products or equipment, it is the Customer's responsibility to ensure that they are safe, in good working order, and suitable for the tasks requested. The Company will not be liable for damage caused by defective or inappropriate materials supplied by the Customer.
6.3 Where the Company supplies cleaning chemicals, they will be used in accordance with safety instructions and applicable regulations. The Customer should inform the Company of any allergies, sensitivities, or preferences regarding products in advance.
7. Payments and Charges
7.1 The Customer agrees to pay the charges for the Services at the rates agreed at the time of booking. Prices may be on an hourly basis, fixed fee, or another arrangement as communicated to the Customer.
7.2 The Company may require a deposit or full prepayment for certain services, including but not limited to one-off deep cleans and end of tenancy cleans. Any such requirements will be communicated at the time of booking.
7.3 Payment must be made using an accepted payment method as specified by the Company. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due on or before the date of the service. Where account or invoice arrangements are agreed with commercial Customers, payment terms will be as stated on the invoice.
7.4 If payment is not received by the due date, the Company reserves the right to suspend or cancel further services and may charge interest or late payment fees in accordance with applicable law.
7.5 The Company reserves the right to review and revise its prices from time to time. Any price changes will not affect confirmed bookings already accepted by the Company unless additional work or extended duration is requested by the Customer.
8. Cancellations, Rescheduling and No-Show
8.1 If the Customer wishes to cancel or reschedule a booking, they must provide as much notice as possible. The Company may apply a minimum notice period for cancellations and rescheduling. Bookings cancelled or changed with less than the specified notice may incur a cancellation charge, which may be up to the full cost of the booked service.
8.2 If the Cleaner is unable to attend a booking due to illness, transport disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances, the Company will inform the Customer as soon as reasonably practicable and will arrange an alternative appointment or replacement Cleaner where possible. In such cases the Company will not be liable for any indirect losses but will not charge the Customer for services not delivered.
8.3 If the Cleaner attends the Premises but is unable to carry out the Services due to lack of access, unsafe conditions, or other circumstances within the Customer's control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and the full or partial service fee may be charged.
9. Service Quality and Complaints
9.1 The Company aims to provide a consistent and professional cleaning service. If the Customer is not satisfied with any aspect of the Services, they should notify the Company as soon as possible, ideally within 24 hours of the service.
9.2 Upon receiving a complaint, the Company may request details and evidence of the issue and will, where appropriate, arrange for the Cleaner to return to the Premises to rectify reasonable concerns at no additional charge. This will be at the Company's discretion and limited to the same areas and tasks initially booked.
9.3 The Company's obligation in respect of any justified complaint will be limited to rectifying the issue or, where rectification is not reasonably possible, providing a partial or full credit or refund for the affected part of the Services, as determined by the Company.
10. Liability and Insurance
10.1 The Company will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. However, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or purely economic loss, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment.
10.2 The Company's total liability arising out of or in connection with any Services, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall in all cases be limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the specific booking from which the claim arises.
10.3 The Company will not be liable for normal wear and tear, pre-existing damage, or defects in the Premises, fixtures, fittings, or belongings. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that all surfaces and items to be cleaned are suitable for the cleaning methods and products used.
10.4 The Company shall not be liable for any cost, damage, or loss arising from the Customer's failure to follow recommendations or instructions given by the Company, including in respect of drying times, ventilation, or re-entry to treated areas.
10.5 The Company maintains appropriate insurance cover for its operations, subject to the terms, conditions, and exclusions of its policies. Evidence of insurance may be made available upon reasonable request.
11. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations
11.1 The Company will handle and dispose of waste generated in the course of providing the Services in accordance with applicable waste management and environmental regulations.
11.2 The Customer is responsible for informing the Company in advance if any hazardous, clinical, or regulated waste is present at the Premises. The Company is not licensed to handle certain categories of waste and may refuse to deal with materials that fall outside its permitted scope.
11.3 Where waste removal or disposal beyond normal household or office waste is required, this must be agreed in advance. Additional charges may apply for removal, transport, and disposal of bulky, special, or excessive waste.
11.4 The Customer must not request or encourage the Cleaner to dispose of waste in an unlawful manner, such as leaving items in unauthorised locations or using inappropriate containers. The Company reserves the right to refuse any request that would breach waste or environmental regulations.
12. Health and Safety
12.1 The Company is committed to operating in a safe and responsible manner. Cleaners will follow health and safety guidelines and may refuse to perform tasks that they consider unsafe or inappropriate.
12.2 The Customer must not request services that involve working at unprotected heights, moving excessively heavy items without proper equipment, or handling substances that fall outside normal cleaning products and household or office waste.
12.3 The Customer agrees to notify the Company of any infectious illnesses, pests, infestations, or other health hazards present at the Premises that could reasonably affect the safety of the Cleaner. The Company may cancel or postpone Services until it is safe to attend the Premises.
13. Damage and Breakages
13.1 The Company will take reasonable care when providing the Services. However, accidental damage or breakages may occasionally occur. The Customer must report any alleged damage attributable to the Cleaner as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 24 hours of discovery.
13.2 The Company may inspect the damage, request photographs, and investigate the circumstances. Where the Company accepts responsibility, it may, at its discretion, repair the item, replace it with a similar item taking into account age and condition, or offer fair compensation up to the limit set out in these Terms and Conditions.
13.3 The Company will not be responsible for damage resulting from defective materials, structural weaknesses, items which are not securely fixed, or surfaces and items that are unsuitable for standard cleaning methods.
14. Termination and Suspension
14.1 Either party may terminate an ongoing regular service arrangement by giving reasonable notice, subject to any minimum term or specific agreement documented at the time of booking.
14.2 The Company may suspend or terminate Services with immediate effect if the Customer:
a. Fails to pay any amount due on time.
b. Provides unsafe working conditions or behaves in an abusive, threatening, or discriminatory manner towards any Cleaner.
c. Requests services that would breach law or applicable regulations.
14.3 Termination or suspension shall not affect any rights or obligations that have already accrued, including the Customer's obligation to pay for Services already provided.
15. Data Protection and Privacy
15.1 The Company will collect and process personal information about the Customer only as necessary to manage bookings, provide Services, handle payments, and comply with legal obligations.
15.2 Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. The Company will take reasonable steps to safeguard personal data and will not sell or share it with unrelated third parties except where required by law or necessary to deliver the Services.
16. Changes to These Terms
16.1 The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will apply to all new bookings and to ongoing services after the Customer has been notified of the change.
16.2 If the Customer continues to use the Services after being informed of updated Terms and Conditions, this will constitute acceptance of the revised terms.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
17.1 These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
17.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services.
18. General Provisions
18.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
18.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall operate as a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
18.3 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Customer in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
By making a booking with Cleaners Shoreditch, the Customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
